Essex Thermal Services Ltd delivered a comprehensive ventilation and ductwork package for a major commercial office development, comprising over 100,000 sq ft of office space across nine floors.

Working within a large-scale, multi-storey commercial environment, ETS provided a coordinated ventilation solution supporting the building’s supply and extract requirements throughout the development.

The project included supply and extract ventilation serving fan coil units across all nine floors, together with dedicated toilet extract systems serving two cores on every level.

At roof level, the installation incorporated three large double-stacked air handling units and two toilet extract fans. Distribution ductwork was installed from the roof through the building’s risers, providing ventilation services throughout the building.

Specialist elements included fire-rated ductwork systems within the basement areas, incorporating motorised smoke and fire dampers (MSFDs) to support the building’s fire and smoke strategy.

The project also included the installation of grilles and plenums above raft ceilings throughout the development, requiring careful coordination with the wider ceiling and building services installations.

With extensive vertical distribution, multiple service risers and complex coordination across nine floors, ETS worked closely with the project team to maintain quality, consistency and programme efficiency throughout the project.
